Central Drug Store opened for business in October of 1949 and has been
in continuous operation for the past 58 years. The name came from
it's location on Central Avenue in downtown Medford, Oregon. It
remained at that location until 1980, when the move was made to the new
Black Oak Village shopping center in East Medford. At that time, Central
Drug Store began doing business as Black Oak Pharmacy.

At the time of the relocation, Tim Lichlyter worked as a pharmacist and
was in the process of becoming a part owner. Tim's wife Carol,
anticipating their sole ownership in October of 1994, left her job
as a travel agent to join the business in February of 1994. Since
that time, the Lichlyters have moved aggressively to install equipment and
systems designed to provide improved services to their customers in a more
cost effective way; always making sure that the personal relationships
with their customers were maintained. In 2002, Shady Cove Pharmacy
was added to the Central Drug Store family.

The breadth of products and services has also increased dramatically with
the addition of Compounding, Home Health Care and Equipment Supplies,
electronic medical billing, and free delivery within the service area.
The business has grown from 8 employees to 37, all focused on providing
unparalleled service to an ever-growing group of loyal customers.
