Our Pharmacists

TIM LICHLYTER, Owner/Registered Pharmacist

Tim graduated from Washington State University in 1980. After graduation, he moved to Central Point, Oregon to be near his parents, who had relocated to Oregon's Rogue Valley after Tim finished high school. Tim worked that summer at Central Drug in Medford, and decided to become a part owner of Central Drug. Tim is married to Carol, and they have two children, Kayla, now a college student, and her younger brother Sam. Tim was a Boy Scout in his youth, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and now helps with Sam's local scout troop. In college, Tim enjoyed mountain climbing and climbed Mt. Raineer twice and Mt. Hood. He also road a bicycle from Medford to Buffalo, New York.

 

KEN OLESEN, Registered Pharmacist

Ken graduated from the Oregon State School of Pharmacy in 1970, fulfilling his boyhood dream of being a pharmacist and helping people. A native Oregonian, he has worked in a variety of retail pharmacies in Southern Oregon and Portland, as well as two years in a nursing facility in Milwaukee, Oregon. In 2003, he joined the staff at Black Oak Pharmacy, where he has worked as a staff pharmacist. His love of pharmacy and compounding, and dedicated history of customer service is appreciated by coworkers and customers alike. A former marathon runner and mountain climber, he and his wife Melanie can frequently be found walking with their grand-daughter or searching for new recipes to test on their friends.

Our Store Manager

STEVE BOE, Store Manager

Steve was born in Missoula, Montana in January 1949. He spent his formative years in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties in Northern California, graduating from Arcata High School, where he was active as a student leader and in athletics, as well as Key club and the National Thespian Society. After high school, Steve completed university and graduate work at Southern Oregon University, earning Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration and Marketing. He has a very diverse work experience background that includes ranching, commercial fishing, water well drilling, professional leather upholstery, leather artisan, retail store management, and group purchasing for 30 hospitals in the Oregon region for 15 years. Steve served as Vice President of Supply Chain, where he successfully managed group purchasing opportunities presenting cost savings in Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Dietary, DME, and Materials Management, which produced several million dollars in savings for the member hospitals each year for 5 years. Steve's special skills include interpersonal relationship building, managing group dynamics, leadership in creative problem solving, decision making processes and development of cost saving strategies. His personal interests include reading, woodworking, soft leather design and construction, bike riding, golf, and rock landscaping. Steve enjoys spending time with his family and working in their gardens.
